Riverbank Wind Energy Facility: Phase 2

Construction of the Riverbank Wind Energy Facility Phase 2 on farm Sandflat 149, Riverbank 147, Holstein 148, Porcupine Kop 169, Bristol 170, approximately 4 km northeast of Wesley in the Eastern Cape. The facility is proposed over a collective area of 20 km² in extent. The development is two phases: the first phase comprises of the construction of up to 17 turbines (33MW) and the second phase will similarly include the construction of up to 17 (33MW) turbines, totaling to 34 (66MW) turbines. Just Energy has proposed collaborating with the Uncedo Lwethu Farmers Cooperative. This is also known as the Wesley-Ciskei (33 MW) of which phase 1 forms part of the Window 4 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement REIPPP programme.
