Remining and Processing of Tailings Facilities for MWS

Remining and processing of tailings facilities for MWS in the Stilfontein area, North West Province. MWS is situated in Stilfontein, in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District in the City of Matlosana Municipality District. The proposed project is situated on certain portions of the farms: Stilfontein 408 IP, Mapaiskraal 441 IP, Modderfontein 440 IP, Sterkstroom 216 IP & Zandpan 423 IP. The proposed mining method will entail the use of high pressure water cannons to slurry the tailings which will then be pumped to processing plants for the recovery of uranium and gold. The tailings recovered will be pumped to the existing MWS 4 Tailings Dam until 2010, until which time a new Tailing Storage Facility (TSF) will be needed. The project will include a new Uranium Plant, Sulphuric Acid Plant, various pipelines and power lines.
