Construction of the Rea Vaya BRT Section 8 - Work Package 8B. This is for the widening of the Sandspruit River Bridge on Katherine Street (from two lanes to six lanes - 4 shared lanes and 2 BRT lanes), construction of BRT along Katherine Street, and widening of Katherine Street (260m) and Marlboro Drive (560m) going to the M1 highway, Johannesburg, Gauteng. The scope of works entail the construction of bridge and a retaining wall, widening of sections, traffic accommodation, construction of commercial gravel sub-base layers, construction of BTB base, asphalt surface overlay, kerb, channels arid sidewalks. It also includes road marking, traffic signal installation and street lighting upgrade. CIDB 8 R40 to R130 million.
