It is situated in the uMngeni Local Municipality, within the Umgungundlovu District Municipality. The site is located adjacent to the Nottingham Road Village in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and is bounded to the North East by the R103 and Gowrie Gold Estate, to the South East by the existing Rawdons Hotel, to the North West by the Fort Nottingham Road and various urban areas, and to the South West by the railway and agricultural properties beyond.
