About this development
Construction of a new Transmission Substation (Quattro) at Orlando in Soweto and associated substation works, including two newly proposed 400kV Transmission power lines. Activity will include the construction of a new Transmission Substation (proposed to be named Quattro) with 2 x 315MVA 275/88kV transformers. The establishment of two Transmission power lines from Etna Transmission Substation to the newly proposed Quattro Transmission Substation built at 44kV but operated at 275kV power lines. The associated Transmission substation work entails: the establishment of a 400kV busbar, 2 x 400kV feeder bays, 2 x 400kV transformer bays and 2 x 88kV transformer bays at Orlando substation in Soweto, and 2 x 275kV feeder bays at Etna substation, in Gauteng. The length of the Transmission lines is expected to be 14km.
