About this development
Development of the Pyroxenite Expansion Project (PEP), Phase 3, near Phalaborwa, in the Limpopo Province, which involves the expansion of the South Pyroxenite Pit (SPP) mining operations; construction of a new processing plant closer to the SPP; a pipeline carrying phosphate concentrate from the proposed new processing plant to the existing plant; a pipeline carrying tailings from the new processing plant to the existing Selati Tailings Dam; a rail link of approximately 5km from the new processing plant to a railway siding located west of the existing mining operations; the installation of a new 132KVA Eskom substation located adjacent to the new processing plant; installation of a new transmission line between the existing substation and the new substation; a water reservoir with a capacity for approximately 5 mega-litres; installation of a conveyor belt from the PEP Phase 1 stockpile to the PEP Phase 3 stockpile; and the installation of a new dryer in the existing processing plant.
