Project overview

About this development

Expansion of the Pumwani Maternity Hospital and the Maternity College of Nursing and Midwifery, located in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. This hospital is the largest center that is dedicated to providing reproductive and neonatal health care in Kenya and in Central and East African Region. Due to the current condition of the hospital and limited capacity, the Nairobi City County Government in collaboration with the National Government through the Ministry of Health has initiated the expansion. The newly equipped 450 bed hospital will enhance quality maternal care services and the hospital will also be in a position to provide a range of services apart from obstetric and neonatal services. The expansion of Pumwani Maternity College of Nursing and Midwifery will increase student enrollment and therefore increase the capacity and number of lecture halls; and enhance quality of training.
