About this development
Rand Water proposes to renovate and or partially replace the existing 610mm diameter, 3.6km long steel G7 pipeline, which runs along Geldenhuis (southern side), Cydonia (southern side) and Orchid Roads (eastern side). The existing G7 pipelines will be replaced with a new 700mm steel pipeline, which will be laid in a new route over certain areas. Where necessary the existing 610mm pipeline will be removed or decommissioned. The pipeline passes through the suburbs of Malvern East, Malvern Ext. 1, 2 & 6, Wychwood, Creston Hill and Primrose Hill in Bedfordview (Germiston), which are under the jurisdiction of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in the Gauteng Province.
