About this development
Construction of a coastal terminal at the existing LMP site in Island View, Port of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The project will involve constructing a facility for the storage and handling of petroleum products on a site currently involved in the manufacture of lubricant products only. The development will be known as Project Phoenix and two design options are being assessed. Option A: the establishment of a combined Lubes and Fuel Terminal (Value R400 million) or Option B: the construction of a full capacity fuels only terminal (Value R640 million) to import and distribute fuels (diesel and petrol only) to the inland market in South Africa.
