About this development
Establishment of the Project Blue Solar Energy Facility, a photovoltaic (PV) solar facility, at a site north of the town of Kleinsee within the Nama Khoi Local Municipality, in the Northern Cape, and within a De Beers mining area. This is to be phase 4 of the proposed Project Blue Renewable Energy Facility. The solar facility is proposed to accommodate PV panels appropriately spaced over an extent of approximately 130 hectares for the purpose of electricity generation. The total generating capacity of the proposed facility will be up to 65 MW (to be developed in a phased approach). This solar component will be referred to as the Project Blue Solar Energy Facility. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the marker has been placed within the Nama Khoi Local Municipality 29°41'00.2"S 17°03'49.7"E.
