Construction of a privately funded pipeline from Durban to Gauteng, as competition to the parastatal's line. This 24 inch multiproduct pipeline could cost R11 billion. This is the largest project of its kind ever undertaken in South Africa and is expected to stimulate the economy in sections such as engineering and construction, equipment and pipeline suppliers and job creation.
