Project overview
About this development
Eskom proposes to replace the existing 66kV wooden pole powerline from Blanko to Knysna substation, approximately 80km long with a new 132kV powerline. A combination of steel monopoles, concrete monopoles, lattice towers and cigar (double tapered stayed steel) poles, depending on the topography of the study area will be used. The servitude is to follow the same route as the existing 66kV wooden pole powerline. The line runs through several farms, George Town, informal settlements and townships, both at George and Knysna, Western Cape.
