About this development

Construction and operation of a 760mw peaking power station on a build-own-operate basis under a fifteen year power purchase agreement with Eskom. The Shakaskraal power station will be located adjacent to Eskom's Avon substation in the KwaDukuza Municipal area, KwaZulu-Natal. The site is approximately 65 km north of the Durban metropolitan area and approximately 7.5 km north west of the town of Shakaskraal. The facility will consist of four diesel-fired open cycle gas turbines.
