About this development
Construction of a retirement village as part of the redevelopment of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Resort in Port Edward, KwaZulu-Natal. The retirement village will consist of a maximum of 175 units, and is proposed on the north-western portion of the site. The size of site is approximately ±1,691ha and the size of the units will be 80m². The Port Edward Holiday Resort was previously known as the Port Edward Police Resort which was established approximately 60 years ago. A promenade is proposed on the eastern extremity of the site. The development will also include the construction a promenade, holiday rentals, permanent residences, a 200-bed hotel with conference and catering facilities, and a retail component.
