About this development
Construction of a new entrance complex for the Pietermaritzburg Botanic Gardens, KwaZulu-Natal. The entrance will feature a restaurant, retail facilities and a multi-function venue that will be accessed from a boardwalk ringing an enlarged duck pond and wetland. The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) intends building new tourism related infrastructure in various South African Botanical Gardens (Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng) over the next 18 months. SANBI is seeking expressions of interest from potential construction management companies to co-ordinate and manage these new labour-intensive building projects which form part of the Expanded Public Works Programme of the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism.
