About this development

Development of a pilot plant at Mossel Bay, Western Cape with Ocean Power Delivery, which supplies equipment, Pelamis Wave Energy Converter, to generate power from waves. The project could cost R7 billion and generate 700 megawatts of electricity. Once the pilot plant is operational, additional plants will be installed at Port Elizabeth, Knysna and Saldanha. Each plant could generate between 100 and 300 megawatts.
