The Road Development Agency (RDA) of Zambia wishes to rehabilitate and construction approximately 2000km of selected urban roads in Zambia using concrete paving bricks and cobblestone technology in all Provinces of Zambia under the Pave Zambia 2000 Project.The proposed road project will connect outlying areas of Zambia in all the 10 provinces and boost interlink trade.This project will cover 2000 kilometres of selected roads in residential areas using interlocking concrete blocks. The cost of constructing paved roads would be lower than the conventional road construction technology which was bituminous and based on asphalt specifications and also using concrete blocks was more environmentally friendly. Project value K1.6 billion. The project is being financed through National Road Fund Agency (NRFA).
