About this development
Development of a new gold mining operation at Otjikoto in Namibia. To be known as Otjikoto Gold Project. The project is located close to a developed system of road, rail, electrical power, ground water and communications. The project is 50 km northeast along B1 from the full service town of Otjiwarongo. The entire Otjikoto Project area consists of three mineral exploration licenses for 193,000 hectares, one mineral exploration renewal application for 49,000 ha, and one new mineral exploration application for 97,000 hectares. The final pit will be 2060m long, 635m wide and 245m deep. The mine will use a drill and blast, load and haul method. Total capital costs are estimated at $244.2 million.
