About this development
Construction of the Oryx Wind Energy Facility and associated infrastructure on Portions 2 and 3 of the Farm Ouplaas 304, Remainder of Farm Plaas 457, Portions 1 - 5 of Farm Plaas 457, Portion 2 of Farm Doornvlei 305, Portion 2 of Farm Lemoenkloof 456 and the remainder of Farm Plaas 455, approximately 10km west of Daniëlskuil within the Kgatelopele and Tsantsabane Local Municipalities and ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, Northern Cape. The development area is proposed to accommodate (but is not limited to) the following: Up to 53 wind turbines with a maximum hub height between 100-140m and rotor diameter between 120-175m. Up to 2 x 33kV/132kV onsite substations. Electrical and auxiliary equipment, including substation yard, control buildings, fences etc. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Site office and maintenance buildings, workshop, storage area and parking for staff and visitors. The exact GPS co-ordinates are 28°13'25.71"S; 23°25'35.70"E.
