About this development
Expansion of the OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, in Gauteng. Towards the end of 2009, the international and domestic terminals will be linked by means of a central terminal building currently being constructed. A departures upgrade and upper roadway relocation will accommodate the high growth in international passenger traffic and relieve the congestion currently being experienced at the international check-in area. The central terminal building will also serve as one of the stations on the Gautrain Rapid rail link for easy access to train transport. There is also a construction of an anti-pollution facility on the northern side of the Taxiway Hotel No 5 that will service the entire airport. Value: R2.2 billion.
