About this development
Construction of a new 150 000m² optical fibre cable manufacturing plant for Yangtze Optics Africa Cable (YOAC), which is a Joint Venture between Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable (Shanghai) Co., Ltd (YOFC) and Mustek. The site is located at Dube TradePort, north of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. The facility envisages a manufacturing capacity of more than one-million fibre kilometres. Estimated project value: R250 million (R100 million investment in building the facility and R150 million in equipment).
