A Mozambican and South African consortium, Petroline Holdings, plans to start building an oil pipeline linking Johannesburg to the port of Maputo. The 450-km pipeline, with an annual capacity to transport 3,5-million cubic metres, will facilitate fuel imports via Mozambique's Maputo port, which is closer to Johannesburg than any of South Africa's major ports, including Durban Project value :$620m.
