Oakland City Development - Infrastructure

Construction of the associated civils, services and infrastructure for the Oakland City Development, Cape Town, in the Western Cape. This will include roads and services, public open space, conservation and utility services. The proposed road network makes provision for connections to Vanguard Drive, Morgenster Road, Wespoort Drive and Weltervreden Road to the east. To the west, provision is made for connections to Strandfontein Road. The Development Framework also makes provision for possible future connections to the road transportation network to the north and south of the property. Additionally, the Development Framework makes provision for an east-west connection across the proposed Oakland City development to a proposed IRT trunk route along Strandfontein Road. The proposed Oakland City development is a mixed use development, and will comprise the following land uses: business, retail, offices, industrial, residential - including social and GAP housing, and group and single residential opportunities, educational / institutional – primary and secondary schools, tertiary institution, and a civic / community component.
