About this development
Construction of the Nyatike Dam (new Gogo Dam) in Migori between two counties: Homa-bay and Migori County, Kenya. The proposed scope of works involve the construction of an embankment fill dam with a storage capacity of 536 million cubic metres. Power generation plant of 16.25MW capacity; and water treatment works, transmission and distribution of 50,000m³/day for domestic use. The estimated project cost is Kshs.47.44 Billion (R6 120 873 468.98). The new dam will be built about 160m downstream of the existing Gogo dam, we have placed the GPS marker at the existing dam -0.9077326000000002, 34.3490984.
