About this development
Upgrading of the Nqanqarhu (Maclear) water treatment works, Nqanqarhu, Joe Gqabi District Municipality, Eastern Cape. CIDB 8CE. Construction of a new water treatment works comprising the following: Inlet/Dosing building, flocculation channel, sedimentation tank, filter building, 1Ml clear water reservoir, pump station building incorporating a standby generator room and chlorination rooms, sludge lagoons with offtake chamber and supernatant return pump station, office/laboratory, gate house, operator and supervisor living quarters, internal potable water reticulation and pipework, bulk earthworks, internal concrete roadworks, storm water drainage, gabions and retaining walls, fencing. Construction of a dam outlet chamber in the Aucamp Dam with a 370 m x 355 mm Ø oPVC gravity main connecting to the WTW. a new 1700 m x 315 mm Ø oPVC rising main from the new WTW. one 3 Ml and one 500 kl in-situ cast concrete reservoirs. Remedial works on an existing 315 mm Ø uPVC gravity main from the Maclear Dam and the connection thereof to the new WTW. Construction of a 150m long concrete access road. The GPS location Marker has been placed at the existing Maclear WWTW 31°05'10.9"S 28°22'51.8"E
