About this development
Construction, operation and maintenance of a new 590km cape gauge railway from Chingola in the heart of old Zambian copper belt to the Angolan border. The railway will be built in two phases: Phase will extended from Chingola, to the Kansanshi, Lumwana and Klumbila mines, comprising 290km of track. Phase 2 will connect with the Benguela line on the Zambian-Angola border, near Jimbe. Phase 1 of the project is estimated at $489 million while Phase 2 is estimated at $500million.
