Northern Wastewater Treatment Capacity Expansion (NWTW)

The capacity of the Northern Wastewater Treatment Works (NWTW) is to be expanded. The objective of the project is to provide first-class wastewater treatment works to cater for current and future increases in capacity and to eliminate any spillage into the Jukskei river. The design and construction includes the most modern equipment, machinery and technology. At the end of the project, the complete Unit 5 will provide an additional capacity of 150 mega-litres per day. Value: R450 million.
