About this development
Construction for the new PL6 pipeline between Jameson Park Terminal and Airport Depot, including ancillary facilities the starting point of the project is located at Jameson Park Terminal 2, Poortjie Road, off R42 and ends on 43 Springbok Road, Bartlett, Boksburg, Gauteng. CIDB 9CE. The overall scope of works required to bring the PL6 pipeline into operation will include the following: changes need to be made at the IVW Terminal to receive and dispatch Jet Fuel to the JMP Terminal. This will be undertaken under a separate project. Two new dedicated main line pumps for the conveyance of Jet fuel, including ancillary installations, will be provided as part of the current project, to be installed immediately east of the existing dispatch manifold and pumps. APT Depot: A new pig receiver is to be provided at the terminal end of the new PL6 pipeline, to be incorporated in the existing 12” intake manifold at the depot. Also two new 90m³ tanks and road tanker loading facility are to be installed, to receive and dispose of product discharged during pigging operations and to improve the surge relief capacity at the depot. The existing fire protection installations are also to be replaced and additional fire protection is to be provided for the new tanks and road tanker loading facility.
