About this development
Construction of the Ouagadougou-Donsin Airport in Burkina Faso. The project involves the construction of a new international airport with the capacity to handle 1.5 million passengers annually. It will include the construction of runways, passenger terminals, aircraft hangars, retail units, taxiways, and parking facilities. The project also includes the construction of access roads to the new airport, the construction of a 24.3km new two-lane paved link road with two lanes for two-wheeled vehicles from the Loumbila NR3 junction to the Nionogo NR22 junction and security barriers and the renovation of 40km existing rural roads. 24 km of new drinking water pipelines will be built to serve the new airport as well as the local populations, the Ouaga 2 University and the village of Nomgana/Loumbila; A brand new 7km electric loop will allow the new airport to be connected to the public grid, 130km of fibre optic will be installed to connect the site to the global high-speed network.
