About this development
The NAC intends to construct a completely new international airport separate from the existing Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, Namibia with an aerodrome classification of category 4F of the International Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aerodrome Reference Code in terms of Annex 14 of ICAO; that can accommodate multiple wide-bodied code F aircraft, hence the need for a runway, taxiways and aprons of corresponding magnitude. The envisaged new international airport will further encompass, among others, a new terminal building with a separate VIP check-in and ancillary facilities; a befitting fire station; and a new air traffic control tower.
