About this development
The Port of Maputo in Mozambique has experienced a dramatic growth in cargo volumes in the bulk metals and minerals sector, a trend which is set to continue into the future. In order to realise the potential growth in throughput arising from these cargos, Port of Maputo needs to install additional bulk storage capacity. MPDC want to build a new General Dry Bulk Terminal, within its concession area. The terminal is set to contain multi-purpose warehouse facilities that are capable of storing various different commodities of different sizes and grades, as well as an open slab for cargo that do not accommodate potential variation in furore cargo composition. It is the intention to have a common road and rail receiving- unit linked to an overhead conveyor that will discharge into the warehouse facility.
