Sasol Gas Limited has proposed to deviate from the alignment of an existing gas pipeline and network through the construction of a new alignment located within the Ekurhuleni and City of Joburg metropolitan Municipalities, as a result of the unacceptable risk posed by the existing gas pipeline which follows an alignment that passes underneath Tembisa, Gauteng. The proposed new alignment of the pipeline will be located within the road reserve along Modderfontein Road (approximately 9km), Allan Road (approximately 3,5km) and Olifantsfontein Road (approximately 4,7km).
