About this development
Coal India Limited (CIL) had participated in the Tender no. 06/DNM/2008 invited by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Government. of Mozambique and was declared the winning Bidder in respect of Areas A1 and A2 in the Moatize Coalfield in Tete Province, Mozambique. CIL now intends carrying out exploration and subsequent development of coal mining in the License areas granted to it by the Mozambican government, which are estimated at 1 billion tons.
