About this development
The proposed Naboom Chrome Mine will be located north west of the village of Makurung, on Naboom and Vaalboschlaagte farms near Lebowakgomo in the Limpopo Province. The mine will be accessed using the existing D4097 to Makurung. Minmetals plans to mine the chrome using a combination of opencast and underground methods. The chrome ore will be concentrated on site by either crushing and screening or by dense medium separation.
