About this development
Construction of a retail and office park development around Bram Fischer International Airport, as part of Phase 1 of the Mangaung Airport Development Node. Phase 1 covers 700 ha on the Southern side of the N8 between Bloemfontein and Thaba Nchu. The N8 corridor development is taking place along the N8 route, which is one of the major roads stretching from the east of the Free State province through town such as Ladybrand, Thabanchu, Botshabelo, Bloemfontein, to the west through Petrusberg in the Free State. Phase 1 of the N8 Corridor Development will require 5 100 t of cement and 130 000 m2 of stone; 17 280 m3 of tar will be used to construct 72 km of roads; 160 km of roadside curbing will be constructed; and 32 km of water pipes, as well as 24 km of stormwater pipes, will be laid.
