The Mumbwa Project area is located approximately 200km west of Zambia’s capital, Lusaka. The region is largely underlain by metasedimentary rocks of the Kundulungu Group of the Neoproterozoic Katanga Sequence. The Kitumba deposit lies within the Mumbwa Project. The Kitumba deposit is an iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) type deposit and currently ranks within the top quartile of global IOCG copper-gold dominated deposits in terms of contained copper. A start-up capital expenditure of $377 million would be required, with $145 million to be spent on the process plant and $134 million on project development and infrastructure.
