Upgrading of the Msunduzi River Bridge (Grimethorpe Avenue to Bishopstowe) on District Road D669 at km 2.54 in the Umgungundlovu District Municipality in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. CIDB 7CE The scope includes establishment on site and clearing and grubbing, provision of traffic accommodation facilities, survey requirements, construction of all pavement layer, stabilised subbase and base layer, construction of asphalt surfacing, construction of gravel wearing course, road prism drainage, construction of erosion protection measures (gabions, stone pitching, etc.), installation of guardrails, demolition of existing causeway, foundations, formwork and falsework, steel reinforcement, cast in situ concrete, ancillary structural elements, rehabilitation of borrow pits, finishing and cleaning up of the road and road reserve.
