MR44 and MR36 Road Upgrade, Namibia

Construction to dual carriageway standards of part 1 of MR44 and MR36 between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay in Namibia. This project is located in the Erongo region, at the coast between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. The road runs parallel to the coast line approximately 5-8km inland behind the dunes. This project is the 1st phase of the construction to freeway standards of a new road between a point near to the junction of the new MR44 and TR 2/2 east of Swakopmund and a point approximately 6.5km from MR36 near the Walvis Bay airport, to the north of the new heavy industrial area behind the dunes designated as Farm 58. Included in the contract are road works for a divided dual carriageway, road bridges required for 2 slip-level interchanges at the existing major road intersections, 2 river bridges over the Swakop River and other drainage structures where water courses are crossed.Approximately 29.6km of freeway is covered under this project, and approximately 9.5km of ramps and cross roads.
