About this development
The highly prospective Mpokoto Gold Project is a low-capex, low-opex project, which Armadale is targeting to bring into production in the second half 2015 with a 10 year life of mine. The project is located in the western part of the Katanga Province approximately 250km west of Kolwezi in the south of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and approximately 25km from the Zambian border. The mine is planned to produce at 60 000 t/m with 73% of production being mine from the main pit. The Phase 1 processing plant will be built to process predominately oxide ores. Openpit mining is planned for the first phase and Phase 2 will cover the mining and processing of sulphide ore. The first phase of the project is estimated at $25.15 million.
