About this development
Construction of Morgenzon PV 2 Phase 1, one of three photovoltaic (PV) solar energy facilities and associated infrastructure. The facility will include the following infrastructure: An array of photovoltaic (PV) panels; mounting structure to be either rammed steel piles or piles with pre-manufactured concrete footings to support the PV panels; cabling between the project components, to be lain underground where practical; internal access roads; fencing; workshop area for maintenance, storage, office, toilets and small water treatment unit; a new on-site substation to evacuate the power from the facility into the Eskom grid via the existing power line that traverses the site. The projects are on different localities on the same farm portion, which falls within the Magareng Local Municipality in the Northern Cape.
