About this development
Development of the Mokolo Crocodile Water Augmentation Project, in the Limpopo Province. The MCWAP will comprise of 2 phases. Project Value: R5 168 058 374,45 and R12 058 802 873,72. Phase 1 infrastructure, which comprises a new pump station with a capacity of 1,3 m3/s, at the Mokolo dam, and a 43-km pipeline with a diameter between 800 mm and 1 100 mm will convey 30-million cubic metres of water a year to the Lephalale municipality. The second phase will entail the abstraction works in the river, with low- and high-lift pump stations, and two parallel 1000 mm ND pipelines, 5.3 km each from the Crocodile River (West) at Vlieëpoort near Thabazimbi, the MCWAP-2A will be designed for a 75 million m3/annum transfer capacity. The entire project is estimated at over R10 billion. The exact GPS location is not known and the Marker has been placed at Mokolo Dam: 23°59'01.7"S 27°43'12.1"E
