The coal at Mmamabula West occurs in 3 seams with the majority occurring in the K- and A-seams which are between 4m and 6m thick and occur at depths of between 50m and 210m. The project has an indicated and inferred resource of 1.243 million tonnes, with a 20-year mine life. Initial Capital costs have been estimated at $113 for an owner-operated mine and CHPP.
