Mitchells Plain District Hospital (MPDH)

Construction of a 4 storey, 230 bed (with the potential to expand to 300 beds) hospital on Erf 21763, Mitchells Plain, Western Cape. The hospital will include a larger than average casualty and emergency unit, a pharmacy, a larger than average maternity ward and provisions for after hours Public Health Care (PHC) services. The associated infrastructure includes a waste management area, parking for emergency vehicles, public and staff parking and a helipad for emergency services. This proposed hospital on Erf 21763 is adjacent to Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Mitchells Plain. The footprint of the proposed Hospital itself will be approximately 10.8ha in extent. Existing Lentegeur hospital infrastructure borders the site on the south and east, with a large proposed housing development immediately to the North on the currently vacant land. AZ Berman Drive forms the western boundary of the site. Value: R560 million.
