About this development
Construction of the upper Mhlahlane ext water supply: Completion of bulk rising main and bulk gravity main, O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Mthatha, Eastern Cape. Project value: R35 353 848.09 (incl vat). Scope of works could include: Construct DN350 and DN300 ductile iron and steel pipelines in same trench from WTW to command reservoir and construction of chambers including bifurcation, scour and air valves. The actual project area is located within the Langeni Forest in Mhlahlane farm. The rising main, starting at the new clear pump station, is at the Mhlahlane WTW site. The portion of the gravity main to be completed under this contract starts at the new command reservoir and ends close to the Mhlahlane WTW; the remaining portion of the gravity pipeline to the Lwandlana Reservoir is to be completed under another contract. The GPS location of the command reservoir is 31°28'3.08"S 28°34'40.41"E and the Mhlahlane WTW 31°27'26.51"S 28°34'32.26"E The GPS marker has been placed at the command reservoir 31°28'3.08"S 28°34'40.41"E
