About this development
The Meletse Iron Ore Deposit has a JORC compliant indicated and inferred resource estimate of 47.6Mt at 62.9% Fe in the Limpopo Province. The Meletse Project is incorporated in the Thabazimbi Joint Venture.An opencast iron ore mine with an estimated Life of Mine of 18 years is proposed on the remainder of farm Donkerpoort 448Q and the remainder of Randstephne 455KQ in Thambazimbi in Limpopo Province.. The open pit will be mined through conventional truck and shovel mining techniques. Significant expansion potential exists as the deposit remains open at depth and along strike. Capital costs for the project have been estimated at between $150 million and $190 million.
