About this development

The Mekambo-Est iron ore project (Mekambo-Est) is located on the Ivindo Massif in the north east of the Republic of Gabon which is host to a number of large scale iron ore projects. Waratah Gabon S.A, secured a permit, for area no. G6-508, named “Fer Mekambo-Est” in the Republic of Gabon in December 2011. The permit abuts and is located immediately adjacent to the company’s Youkou Exploration Licence in the Republic of Congo (ROC) and covers an area of over 1 224km². Waratah are focusing on the development and progression of the Mekambo-Est iron ore project in Gabon and to date drilling has been focused on the Gabon side with remote sensing, mapping and rock chip sampling confirming extension into ROC. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is lat: 1.0121272049137253, long: 13.958666341351918.
