About this development
Construction of a 2Ml Wastewater Treatment Works and Outfall Sewer in the Mbizana Town Area, Eastern Cape. Scope of works include: Bulk excavation for platforms, foundations of structures and pipe trenches, fill underneath the inlet works and backfill around structures, reinforced concrete water retaining structures, water tightness testing, sludge recycle pump station, waste sludge pump station, sludge drying beds, chlorine contact tank, supply and installation of interconnecting pipework and specials, chlorine dosing room, administration building, gravel access and internal roads. The outfall sewer consists of: Approximately 12km of gravity bulk sewer line with pipe diameters ranging from 160mm to 500mm diameter PVC, 2km of rising sewer mains discharging at terminal/ discharge manholes, installation of 250 manholes, four pump stations and associated emergency 6-hr storage dams for each. Installation of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment at each pump station. CIDB 8CE. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is Mbizana, 30°51'36.4"S 29°48'30.5"E.
