The Mbalawala block covers an area of about 154,8km² and is located within the Ngaka coalfield in the south-western region of Tanzania. The project has a declared maiden Joint Ore Reserves Committee resource of 40 million tons. The project will see the construction of an openpit mine, with a production rate of around 1,5 million tons a year for an average 35 year mine life. Estimated project value : $205 million.
