About this development
Upgrading of the Matola Coal Terminal facility in Maputo, Mozambique for Grindrod. This would be done over a period of time lifting the capacity to 6-million tons a year. The terminal is currently housed in African Portland Industrial Holdings (API). The terminal currently handles 1,7-million tons a year, the capacity of which is constrained by the rail line feeding the port. When phase 4 is complete it will expand the capacity to 26 million tons. Phase 4 will require excavation and land reclamation, the construction of two new berths, a stockyard and railway infrastructure.
