Expansion of the Maropeng Interpretation Centre Complex Off R563, Hekpoort Road, Sterkfontein, Gauteng Province. The scope of works could include: (a) expansion of the Maropeng Hotel from 24 to 60 rooms with the inclusion of a spa and wellness facility, (b) creation of staging facilities, ablution and performer accommodation in the 5000 seater outdoor amphitheatre space, (c) expansion of the Hominid House Student facilities to include six additional self contained teacher accommodation units and an enclosed dining area and (d) creation of an additional exhibition area within the tumulus building to accommodate temporary exhibits, and creation of a children's play area and cafe space to accommodate 100 people on the outside of the Tumulus building. The contract value is R250 Million.
